Customer service is awful at this restaurant!!!!! We had the worst waiter ever, I believe his name is Adam. He allowed our beverages to get empty, then I had to ask him to refill our glasses after had already walked by our table 7 times without even acknowledging our empty glasses. After about an hour and 15 minutes of waiting on our food(the restaurant wasn't even crowded when we ordered) I asked him what was taking our food so long to come out. He then let us know that he forgot to put our order in. What kind our waiter forgets to put a food order in? I will never go back to this place.

Good food. Steelers themed restaurant/bar which I liked because I am a Steelers fan. I liked the atmosphere but when it came to ordering is when I had a problem. I ordered the build your own burger where you can add things to your burger for a dollar or 55¢. I added a few toppings(sautéd onions=55¢, bacon=$1 cheese=55¢, barbecue sauce=55¢) and ate the burger which was delicious but the bill came and I saw that my burger was more expensive then what I realized so I added everything up and it's was about a $1.50 more then what it should've been I asked the waitress and she told me that sautéd onions were a $1.99 when on the menu it clearly said 55¢ I asked her and she said that she just punches into the computer and there is nothing she can do about. I decided it wasn't worth my time arguing the lady about. But am very disappointed with the falsely priced items on the menu, they need to change that. It is really lying about the price of something! Although this happened I was very pleased with the food and atmosphere

Food was great and atmosphere was even better. It has been a long time since I have been impressed with a waitress but Toni was great to us even though her happy face on the check was bad. Take care Toni

Not a personal preferred place to eat, however, not the worse tourist trap on the island. My waitress was very good. I will not return for dinner but would consider sitting at the bar for a drink.

considering the place is clearly a made over appleby's, i did not have much expectation when dining here. i made the mistake of ordering the seared ahi tuna since i figured sashima grade tuna would mean FRESH. not to mention, the technique of searing usually requires the application of high heat on each side for a short duration -- which any line cook should be able to handle. the tuna came out medium rare alright. the tuna was not seared. the heat applied was enough to toughen and dry out the outside layer. the inside ... well, when you take a frozen block of tuna, apply heat on it until it thaws, you can imagine how that ends up. on a different note, the service was excellent and the rolls were tasty. :) i, however, i will never go back. think gordon ramsey's kitchen nightmares.

This was the worst experience I have had. I didn't have high expectations to being with. We had ten of us so we couldn't really leave after waiting. We waited for an 1.5 for food to arrive. We ordered two fried grouper entrees and received 2 grouper sandwiches but after 1.5 hours we were happy food arrived. The fries were cold and the fish wasn't warm. They got a few more orders wrong. I think the kitchen was at fault as most of the restaurant didn't have food. I felt really bad for the server even after she split a salad down one of the kids backs. We will be cooking for the rest of the week. As for Nick's I would never return.

Nick's has apparently changed a lot since the last reviews. We went with a mixed group, 7 adults and 2 preteens. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and the bartender. Promptly seated when we returned from the bar where we chose to have predinner drinks. Our server was friendly and efficient. Took plenty of time with us even though she had another table of 9 seated shortly after we were. Our food came out quickly and was terrific. The server had plenty of back up help from other servers and bartender when delivering our meals and drinks. The teamwork was fantastic. I do want to mention, when we walked in we were afraid we made a mistake. Nick's is low key and we thought "uh oh it's a crappy fried seafood place". While they do have many fried seafood items there was a great selection of broiled, sauteed, and blackened fish. Some good specials too. We had only one member of our party order fried fish. Our 9 year old cousin got popcorn shrimp from the kids menu. It was quite good as were the rest of our entrees. We've driven by Nick's hundreds of times in the years we've been vacationing in Hilton Head and this was the first time we ate there. We will definitely be back.

Don't waste your time here. My boyfriend and I learned that lesson the hard way. We're from out of town, and came down to Hilton Head for a vacation...saw that Nick's was fairly close to our hotel, and after driving past it several times we decided to give it a go. Why not? Wrong choice. First sign we should have turned around: arrogant, pompous, and obviously blind hosts. We walked up to the host stand (which is outside of the restaurant) and were totally ignored .Lest we not forget, that we were 2 of 5 people outside. There was no line whatsoever. The host sat in front of us, marked on a piece of paper for a while, and with his head down he never acknowledged us. Finally my boyfriend asks if we can be "put on the list", as the place looks to be crowded inside. No response. He grabbed a couple of menus, said "there's 2 of you, right?" then handed us off to another host. Ooookay. Sorry to have bothered you, sir! We sit. And wait. And wait. Then this perky server comes up to introduce herself to us finally - a sigh of relief, I think...she seems like she's got somewhat of a personality and is actually TALKING *gasp!* to us. Nope, she was just as awkward as the host's were......it must be a rule of thumb if you work at Nick's. We ordered a beer, and by the time she came back around with our drinks we were able to decide what we wanted to eat. To be honest, nothing on the menu stood out other than crab legs, and we both enjoyed some the night before - so that wasn't really an option. Hum...alright, well it looks like we'll have a steak or 44 options of fried food. Steak it is. Then back to the awkward/red-headed-stepchild feeling: our "perky" server would stroll right by us as if we didn't exist, while constantly checking on the table right behind us the whole time. I wasn't a happy camper. I was hungry. And out of beer. And thirsty, dammit. Take my order! Seriously, anyone can open up a place and throw a measly piece of fish in the fryer, serve it with frozen vegetables or a baked potato and call it dinner. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's a success. No, not in least actually. Boo. We both assumed that this place would blow us away and be a dinner to remember, but both of us were just ready to get outta there and go find a bar or band. Totally not worth the $88 tab!!! Don't bother wasting your time, it's seriously a bust and not worth it. Go to Captain D's if you're in the mood for that kind of cuisine; it'd be a lot cheaper and probably better tasting. Lesson learned!

We went here specifically because it is touted as THE Pittsburgh Steelers sanctuary and one in our party is a Steelers fan big time. The first problem we encountered was trying to find the place, it's a very awkward entry and we thought we had totally missed the place, the area is very poorly lit. Yes, they do have Steelers memorabilia, but big deal. We were one of 3 groups in the place, probably not a good sign right at the dinner hour! The menu was varied, but nothing jumped out at us, it was almost too varied, too random. We all decided to play it safe and have hamburgers. They were nothing special, they came with very greasy fries, which we didn't eat. The prices were average for a burger. We would not recommend this place, there are many places to eat at Hilton Head, most would be better than Nick's I'm afraid.
